Eleonor de Aragón, Reina de Chipre, en la tradición historiográfica franciscana

The purpose of this article is the study of the profoundly edifying vision of Eleonor of Aragon, Queen of Cyprus (ca 1333-1416), given by the Fransciscan tradition, a vision which strongly contrasts with that transmitted by the Cypriot chronicler Leondios Makheras and his Italian translators, Francesco Amadi and Diomedes Strambaldi. For this purpose, the author examines the Franscican chronicles of ángel Vidal, José Antonio de Hebrera, José Batlle and Jaime Coll, as well as some passages of Lo Chrestià, written by the Franciscan Francesc Eiximenis, Lo Somni, by Bernat Metge, and L'Espill, by Jaume Roig, works which deal with some events of the life of this peculiar Queen after his return to Catalonia in 1381. El objetivo del presente artículo es estudiar la visión profundamente edificante que de Eleonor de Aragón, reina de Chipre (ca 1333-1416), da la tradición historiográfica franciscana, una visión que contrasta fuertemente con la que nos transmite el cronista chipriota Leondios Majerás y sus traductores italianos Francesco Amadi y Diomedes Strambaldi. Para ello el autor recorre a las crónicas franciscanas de ángel Vidal, José Antonio de Hebrera, José Batlle y Jaime Coll, así como a algunos pasajes de Lo Chrestià, del también franciscano Francesc Eiximenis, Lo Somni, de Bernat Metge, y L'Espill, de Jaume Roig, que se hacen eco de algunos acontecimientos de la vida de esta singular reina a raíz de su retomo a Catalu a en 1381.
