A NEW APPROACH TO TEMPORAL ADVERBS: IMMEDIATELY

The article shows some preliminary results of the study of the temporal adverb immediately using corpus methodology. The analysis of empirical data revealed the interdependency of some senses and syntactical patterns as well as a grammatical construction which has not been mentioned in English grammar books so far.
