La connivence construite par le discours de l'évidence

Une nouvelle adhésion pour les héritiers du soup on - This article presents a close reading of two contemporary French novels which, although quite different in construction, share a similar tonality and an analogous attitude on the part of their narrators : a complicity which is established by the sharing of what is obvious, an obviousness that uses rhetorical protocols of the establishment of verisimilitude in the biographical novel and in biography. The narrators of each of the two novels examined here – "Sissy, c’est moi" (Patrick Lapeyre, 1998) and "Ravel" (Jean Echenoz, 2006), bear the traces of a presupposed adhesion of the narratee to a shared space, governed by complicity and harmony. As invitations to share the values of a world that represents, rather than the values of a represented world, as invitations to share a discursive position, these narrations of derision and of the derisory depict a narrator more than a character.Deux romans à la facture bien différente partagent une même tonalité, ou, dirait-on moins nébuleusement, une même attitude narratoriale : la connivence qui s'établit au partage de l'évidence, une évidence qui utilise les protocoles rhétoriques d'établissement de la vraisemblance dans le roman biographique et la biographie1. Les narrateurs de chacun des deux romans à l'étude – "Sissy, c'est moi" (Patrick Lapeyre, 1998) et "Ravel" (Jean Echenoz, 2006) – portent les traces d’une adhésion présupposée du narrataire à un espace partagé, gouverné par la connivence et la bonne entente. Invitation au partage des valeurs du monde qui représente plut t que du monde représenté ; invitation au partage d’une position dans le discours, ces narrations de la dérision et du dérisoire dépeignent davantage un narrateur qu’un personnage.
