This study of Paris ne finit jamais enables us to grasp that the act of rewriting, as well as the allusions to certain literary figures and postures in the novel, serve as a veritable interface between the subject-narrator and his reality. The literary imagination that takes shape in the novel entails a certain circularity in which the subject, evincing a relationship to reality mediated by the arts, also cultivates an implicit reflection upon literary history, a reflection through which the former is subjectively reforged. — La mémoire de la littérature, dans l’ uvre de l’écrivain catalan Enrique Vila-Matas, rend nécessaire une réflexion sur la portée référentielle de l’intertextualité. Cette analyse du roman Paris ne finit jamais permet de saisir que la réécriture, les allusions à certaines figures et postures littéraires agissent comme véritable interface entre le sujet-narrateur et sa réalité. L’imaginaire de la littérature qui prend forme dans ce roman entra ne une forme de circularité où le sujet, en manifestant un rapport au réel médiatisé par les lettres, développe également, en creux, une réflexion où l’histoire littéraire est soumise à une refonte éminemment subjective.
