Incidentally detected asymptomatic HBsAg positive subjectsKeywords: Chronic hepatitis B , Hepatitis B virus , incidentally detected asymptomatic HBsAg positive subjects , HBeAg , HBsAg , IDAHS Abstract: Hepatitis B virus [HBV] affects almost five per cent of the total population worldwide and majority of the affected population are detected incidentally without any symptoms. This mammoth pool of Hepatitis B virus infected population needs to be properly assessed and followed up to minimize morbidity and mortality in them. This article reviews literature related to this subset of HBV patients and attempts to provide a rational guideline to approach and manage them.
