De la crise sociale à la crise politique From social to political crises. New political entrepreneurs appear in the Russian Federation

La disparition de l’URSS peut être expliquée comme la résultante de facteurs économiques, politiques et sociaux. Cet article entend proposer une nouvelle interprétation de cet événement en montrant que la crise politique en URSS est la traduction d’une crise sociale laquelle prend la forme d’une crise de la reproduction sociale au sein de l’instance politique dominante, le PCUS. Il s’agira plus particulièrement de mettre en relief les conséquences économiques et politiques du phénomène de l’inflation des titres scolaires en URSS. Dans ce contexte particulier de crise sociale, l’étude des trajectoires individuelles d’individus qui entrent en politique à la fin des années 1980 permet de rendre compte du soubassement social des transformations politiques en URSS. The disappearance of the USSR can be explained as the result of a combination of economic, political and social factors. This article seeks to propose a new interpretation for the event by showing that the political crisis in the USSR is the translation of a social crisis in the form of a crisis of social reproduction within the CPSU. More precisely, it deals with the question of the economic and political consequences of the important increase in the number of graduates, i.e. the phenomenon of inflation of school diplomas in the USSR. In this particular context of social crisis, studying the social itineraries of individuals entering politics towards the end of the 1980s allows to account for the political transformations in the USSR.
