Metastatic lung adenocarcinoma to the mandibular gingiva. Case report and review of the literaturele

SUMMARY: Lung cancer is one of the most common malignancies, affecting mainly middle-aged and elderly people. In most countries this type of cancer occurs mostly in men, although, female patients are increasing over the years. Malignant neoplasms rarely metastasise to the oral cavity and especially to the soft tissues, in which case the most common site of metastasis is the gingiva.A rare case of lung adenocarcinoma that metastasised to the alveolar bone and mandibular gingiva of a 60-year-old female patient is presented.
