NOTAS SOBRE TUTAMEIA-Keywords: Guimar es Rosa , Tutameia , Brazilian fiction , Brazilian modernization , Literature and society , Literature and violence Abstract: In Tutameia, watchwords of modernizing order and sociability shaped by the Brazilian proslavery past are overlapped. This article focuses on narratives from Guimar es Rosa′s last book, in which we find clear relationships between, on one hand, anomy and patriarchal customs, and on the other, resources, mentality and aesthetics apparently confronted with these customs.
