UM TEMPO MíTICO EM GUIMAR ES ROSA

This article analyses how narrative time is organized in Guimar es Rosa's short story "Um mo o muito branco" that belongs to his book Primeiras estórias. It validates the hypothesis according to which time in "Um mo o muito branco" updates a mythical time in which rituals and rites of passage, mystical patterns and different symbolical archetypes mean. The analysis shows that the construction of narrative time in "Um mo o muito branco" highlights a fictional plot that keeps meaning and discursive relations with both the myth and the folktale models. And that, consequently, constitutes and resonates the polysemic strength of Rosa's word and writing.
