AIM: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the incorporation of evidence presented in the orthodontic literature in everyday clinical practice. Issues related to potential implication of irradiation therapy in children with cancer in orthodontic treatment; managing impacted teeth; surgically-assisted palatal expansion; and digital imaging and patient communication, are analyzed.
