RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND THE PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

The Romanian rural area has a rich culture with a strong traditional character differing from one region to another; the problem here is that the rural area cannot fully valorise its resources because of the lack of not enough promotion of the rural areas and of a proper infrastructure. In this paper, we present measures from the National Programme of Romania’s Development (PNDR) 2007-2013 which aims at increasing the attractiveness of the rural area through renovation and integrate development of Romanian villages for sustainable development.
