Comunica o e desenvolvimento na América Latina: um estudo de caso das Revistas Carta Capital e Veja

This paper intends to compose an analysis of the treatment given by Carta Capital and Veja magazines to the issue of socioeconomic development. From a discussion on the crisis of the paradigm of modern science and the understanding of Latin America as a possible alternative, the goal is to discuss if the content proposed by both magazines makes sense with the idea of socioeconomic development and the specificities of the Brazilian context. From this, question the approach to issues related to development based on the paradigms of Western modernity, typical of developed countries and focused on consumption, economic growth, modernization and technology.
