50 years of microwave electronics research at the RI Orion

In March 1961, in accordance with a special government decree on the basis of the Laboratory of high frequency currents of the Institute of Electrical engineering of USSR Academy of Sciences there was established the Institute of radio engineering problems of USSR Academy of Sciences, later renamed as State Research Institute "Orion". Scientific, technical and production backlog of promising developments of new electronic components created by the "Orion" during half a century, as well as continued interest of developers of modern equipment, systems and facilities in the production of microwave electronics allow to make a prognosis of further development of SRI "Orion".
