Abstract:

The science and Math are the research areas in the international study TIMSS. The article brings the findings about the overall results in Science, the gender differences in Life Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and Environmental Science. We present the findings on international level in 1999 and 2003, the Slovak position in international comparison. The information characterize selected factors - the highest educational level for mother and father and the students achievement based on the parents education level. We add the information from TIMSS 2007, the Slovak republic have participated in the research with students Grade 4 first time.Prírodovedné predmety spolu s matematikou tvoria vyskumné domény medzinárodnej túdie TIMSS. Príspevok priná a zistenia o celkovych vzdelávacích vysledkoch iakov z prírodovednych predmetov, o rozdieloch medzi vykonmi chlapcov a diev at z prírodopisu, chémie, fyziky, zemepisu a ekológie. Prezentujeme vyskumné zistenia o komparácii vysledkov na medzinárodnej úrovni a o vplyve vybranych faktorov na rozdiely medzi vzdelávacími vysledkami chlapcov a diev at v Slovenskej republike.
