New teaching and learning method in chemistry at comprehensive school

Abstract:

The results of the international and national researches in science subjects draw attention to the problems in organizing the teaching and learning process. Therefore it is necessity to search for new methodological solutions. In the learning process, by choosing methodological approaches, it would be necessary to rouse students' cognitive interest, to consolidate students' fragmentary knowledge by using graphical information organizers. Based on the results of the researches the new teaching and learning method (TETRA-method) was developed where the tetrahedral spatial mind model was used to implement the method. The action of the model is oriented to the discovery and understanding of various thematic interconnections and phenomena. TETRA-method was used as an alternative methodological solution for the learning chemistry at comprehensive school. The results of approbation indicate that during chemistry lessons students showed greater students' interest and activation of the learning.
