Submitted precept of law is one of the reform pillars because pedagogues are determining factor of educational reform. The act implements the new career system of pedagogic employees built on two career ways. It determines career levels and career ranks. It deals also with responsibilities and rights related to continual professional education of teachers, to principles evaluation and remuneration of teachers. There is a real chance that the planning of pedagogic employees’ professional growth, their continual professional education together with the curricular reform will bring to Slovakia positive changes in school quality. For it can contribute also the research of pedagogic activities of teachers in real pedagogical practice.Zákon o pedagogickych zamestnancoch po mnohych rokoch rie i postavenie u ite ov na Slovensku v rámci ich povolania, ale aj v rámci celej spolo nosti. Predkladaná právna norma je jednym z pilierov reformnych zmien vo vzdelávaní, preto e pedagógovia sú rozhodujúcim lánkom kolskej reformy. Zákon zavádza novy kariérovy systém pedagogickych zamestnancov, ktory je postaveny na dvoch kariérovych cestách. Ur uje kariérové stupne a kariérové pozície. Zaoberá sa aj povinnos ami a právami súvisiacimi s kontinuálnym profesijnym vzdelávaním u ite ov, princípmi hodnotenia a odmeňovania u ite ov. Je reálna nádej, e plánovanie profesijného rastu pedagogickych zamestnancov, ich kontinuálne profesijné vzdelávanie spolu s kurikulárnou reformou prinesú na Slovensku pozitívne zmeny v kvalite koly. K tomu m e prispie aj vyskum pedagogickych inností u ite ov v reálnej pedagogickej praxi.
