Quantification of some polyphenols of Marrubium vulgare L. of Tessala mount (western Algeria) at the vegetative and the flowering periodsKeywords: Marrubium vulgare , polyphenols , phenological stage , vegetable organs Abstract: The polyphenols (total phenolics, flavonoids, condensed tannins and hydrolysable tannins) were quantified in different organs of Marrubium vulgare of Tessala mount (western Algeria) sampled at the vegetative and the flowering periods. Whatever the sampling period, the dry leaves record the highest concentrations of polyphenols. In second position, the flowers are placed. The lowest concentrations are noted on the fresh leaves, the stems and the roots. The flowers accumulate much more tannins in particular condensed tannins; the total phenolics and the flavonoids are slightly represented there. The variations in the polyphenols concentrations noted between the organs during the two sampling periods are confirmed by the analysis of the variance and supported by the analysis in principal components.
