The subject of this paper is to provide an evaluation of various practices according to preservation decisions on Urban Sites, legal or illegal, t lay out the common problems menacing these places in the context of a specific example, i. e. Bursa Reyhan Region and to suggest certain proposals for their solutions. Bursa Reyhan Region is placed in the historical city center of Bursa. Although it is very close to the traditional commercial center of the city. Reyhan Region is mostly composed of residential units. The aim assigned for this region in the Preservation Development Project prepared by the Middle East Technical University for Bursa Historical City Center, is to convert it into a well-equipped, highly preserved residential area with high environ-mental standards and developed infrastructure. Practices on this region include the retouches on the traditional buildings which are registered as historical, new buildings standing next to the traditional ones and new buildings that do not stand next or close to the traditional buildings.
