“A STUDY OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMPETITION AMONG ATHLETES AND NON-ATHLETES”DOI: 10.9780/22315063 Abstract: The purpose of to see the emotional intelligence and competition among athletes and non-athletes. For the present study 160 players were selected from Aurangabad University. The effective sample consisted of 160 subjects, out of which 80 subjects were athlete and 80 subjects were non-athlete. The age range of subjects where 18 to 25 years. Hypothesis first there will be significant difference between athlete and non-athlete respect to emotional intelligence. Second there will be significant difference between athlete and non-athlete respect to competition. Emotional Intelligence test: Pedhe and Hyde were used for measuring Emotional intelligence and Multi Assessment Personality Series (MAPS): constructed and standardize by Psy Com. Conclusion: first Thus the hypothesis is confirmed athletes have significantly high emotional intelligence than non-athletes. Second hypothesis is confirmed athlete's have significantly high competition than non-athletes.
