Casos de Ensino/ Gest o: O Dilema de Jusciléia: Forma o Superior e (Im)possibilidades de Reinser o ProfissionalKeywords: higher education , professional trajectory , PROUNI , FIES. Abstract: This case study deals with the difficulty experienced by Jusciléia, an undergraduate student of Business Administration, in finding an internship opportunity in her area of study. Jusciléia comes from a family of low socioeconomic status and has worked as a maid since she was 14. Taking advantage of the opportunities offered by PROUNI and FIES she was able to enroll in a business school. As of the completion of the penultimate semester of her degree, she continues working as a maid because she doesn't have any opportunity for an internship in her professional training area. The case enables discussion about this new profile of Brazilian students in undergraduate courses in management and their attempts to re-enter the labor market, which are impacted by several factors. Among the most relevant factors are public policies that aim to improve the education of Brazilian citizens to meet the demand for qualified labor; the commitment, or the lack of commitment, university management has towards the quality of education they offer students. This is particularly related to private institutions, which absorb a significant portion of students who fit this profile due to the incentives promoted by PROUNI and FIES.
