Análise da Literatura sobre a Comorbidade entre Fobia Social e Depress o

Social Phobia or social anxiety disorder is a psychiatric disorder characterized by chronicity and association withother morbidities. Depressive syndromes in many studies are cited as the most frequent comorbidities in socialphobia. This study aimed to examine the articles indexed on the databases of Pubmed, Psycinfo, and LILACS in theperiod between 2005 and 2009, which contained descriptors related to social phobia, depression, and comorbiditybetween these two disorders, as well as to evaluate the bibliometric indicators of the scientific literature regardingsuch comorbidity between, and to discuss the qualitative aspects related to the comorbidity between these twopathologies by means of a bibliographic review. The final sample consisted of 31 articles from different countries.By means of the results of this work, it was possible to determine a significant association between social phobiaand depression, contributing to the study and prevention of these two psychopathologies.
