The problem of the origin of philosophy in the text concerning history of philosophy in Turkish

Generally, the books concerning history of philosophy accept the proposition “the first principle of all things is water” that Thales said in 6th century BC as the birth of philosophical thought. What are the reasons and grounds of such an acceptance? Is to philosophise based on this acceptance a mental activity that extends from Ancient Greek to our times. Otherwise is there any possibility of philosophising differently in different cultures? All these questions are answered plainly or obscurely in the books concerning history of philosophy in Turkish. Therefore it seems possible to make relation to between our conception of philosophy and solution given for the problem of origin of philosophy by help of these answers.
