La introducción de un artículo científico original: el minusvalorado corazón del estudio

La introducción de un artículo original debería atraer la atención del lector y explicar por qué los investigadores llevaron a cabo el estudio. Los elementos fundamentales de la estructura de una introducción son: la razón de ser del estudio, la pregunta de investigación y el dise o del estudio. Para contar la razón de ser del estudio iremos de lo conocido a lo desconocido, explicándole al lector de dónde surgió nuestra pregunta y por qué era importante contestarla. La introducción podemos finalizarla con la pregunta de investigación (a veces presentada como la hipótesis o el objetivo del estudio) o con una breve descripción del dise o (esto es, cómo contestamos a la pregunta). Por lo que se refiere al estilo, la introducción debe estar bien organizada y ser breve (preferiblemente debería ocupar una hoja), y habrá que ser capaces, además, de mantener la continuidad de una frase a otra. -------------------------------------------------- The introduction of a scientific article: The underestimated heart of the research study. When discussing the study rationale, we should move from what is known about the topic to what is not known, telling the reader where the study question came from and why it was important to answer that question. The introduction may be concluded by stating the research question (sometimes presented as the study hypothesis or objectives) or by briefly describing the study design (i.e. how we answered the question). Regarding style, the introduction should be well organized and short (preferable one page), and should maintain continuity from sentence to sentence.
