Teacher views on the behaviors of education supervisor within the investigation process

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to put forward the behaviors of education supervisor in line with the teacher views. With this aim, the answer of the following question was tried to be found. Qualitative research method was used in this study which aimed to put forward the behaviors of education supervisor during the investigation process in line with teacher views. Study group of the study included 45 teachers whose investigations were completed by the education supervisor between the years of 2009-2011 in Giresun province. The data of the study was collected via semi-structure interview method. The most accused teachers among the teachers who evaluated the behaviors of education supervisor before the investigation, during the investigation and throughout the investigation stated that the inspectors displayed negative behavior. When the behaviors of the supervisor were evaluated within the investigation in line with the views of accused teachers, the statements of the teachers according to the frequency of negative behavior display were as follows: supervisor did not introduce themselves before starting to the investigation. They did not explain the reason of being called to the investigation. They did not stick to the appointment that they gave for the investigation. They made prompting, suggestion, warning and reconciliation about the subject. They were busy with something else when they consulted to the knowledge of the teachers.
