FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF THE ROMANIAN PRIVATE PENSION FUNDS

The paper makes an analysis of the main indicators of the private pension market, considering both the second and third pillar, in terms of participants, contributions, net assets, rates of return and other relevant issues. Some general considerations concerning the need for increased surveillance of the private pension system from the part of the national authorities are also given in the last part of the paper.
