Ondas de Calor Determinación de temperaturas del pasado

In this work we carried out an experiment to study heat waves on a metal bar. This experiment allows the determination of the diffusivity and thermal conductivity of the material; it is low cost and easy to perform in a teaching laboratory. In addition, it illustrates a model for the determination of past temperatures and measuring temperatures at different depths of the Earth. This method is one of the several proxies used to determine the temperature of the past. These studies are of fundamental importance to know the Earth's thermal history and assess the potential anthropogenic contribution to the global warming we are experiencing presently.
