The northern side rooms of the Terme Milano at Gortys: the apodyterium Gli ambienti sul lato Nord delle Terme Milano a Gortina: l’apodyterium

Gli scavi condotti dall’Università degli studi di Milano a Gortina (Creta) tra il 2009 e il 2010 negli ambienti sul lato Nord delle Terme Milano, hanno messo in luce un grande ambiente rettangolare interpretato come un apodyterium. Il vano, caratterizzato da una pavimentazione in lastre di pietra di riutilizzo, delimita il lato settentrionale del complesso ed è testimonianza sia della II fase di vita dell’edificio che della successiva fase di abbandono, precedente all’estendersi dell’abitato bizantino. The archaeological excavation organized by the University of Milan in the site of Gortys (Crete) between 2009 and 2010 on the northern side of the Terme Milano, revealed a big rectangular room, explainable as an apodyterium. The room, characterized by a re-used stone slabs paving, bounds the northern side of the complex and testifies the II phase of life of the building and the following phase of abandonment, prior to the spreading of the bizantin quarter.
