The Italian-Syrian joint Mission of the Università degli Studi of Milan at Palmyra (Pal.M.A.I.S. = Palmira. Missione Archeologica Italo-Siriana) is focus on the exploration of the south-west quarter of the ancient city. Since 2008 the stratigraphic excavation of the "Peristyle Building" has begun. Many fragments of stucco which are part of a frieze decorated by an Anthemion have been found in one room of the building - the room A -. These fragments belong to the decoration of a luxury complex which was damaged (or destroyed?) before the 6th century AD, and they are very important elements in order to define the chronological horizon of the first phase of development of the area. Les travaux archéologiques de la Mission conjointe italienne-syrienne de l'Università degli Studi de Milan à Palmyre (Pal.M.A.I.S.= Palmira. Missione Archeologica Italo-Siriana) sont dédiés à l’exploration du quartier sud-ouest de la ville antique. Depuis 2008 a été entreprise la fouille stratigraphique du "Batiment à Péristyle", et dans une pièce du batiment - la pièce A - a été trouvé un ensemble des stucs muraux formant une frise décorée par un motif d'Anthemion. Les morceaux de stuc faisaient partie vraisemblablement du décor d'un édifice cossu gravement endommagé (ou détruit?) avant le VI siècle après J.-C. et se sont révélés des éléments très importants pour la définition préliminaire de l'horizon chronologique de la première phase d'occupation de l'aire.
