A Gauloise 4 amphora stamp from Nora Un bollo d'anfora Gauloise 4 da Nora

During the 2011 excavation in Nora a handle fragment of an amphora with a stamp on the back was found. On it, the three letters “T. V. P.” are imprinted on the back, separated from two little triangles acting as partition points. This stamp is relevant to a Gauloise 4 amphora, produced in Narbonese Gaul and diffused between the 1st century and the 3rd century AD. It is one of the little evidence of trade relations between Gaul and southern Sardinia found in Nora. Un frammento di ansa di anfora, rinvenuto durante la campagna di scavo Nora 2011, presenta impresso sul dorso un bollo recante le lettere “T . V . P” tra di loro separate da due triangoli posti come punti divisori. Tale bollo è risultato pertinente ad un'anfora Gauloise 4, di produzione Narbonense e diffusa tra il I e il III sec. d.C. Si tratta di una delle poche testimonianze fornite dalla città di Nora relative ai commerci tra la Gallia e la Sardegna meridionale.
