STUDIES ON ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF y [Li0.5Ni0.6Zn0.15Fe2O4] + (1-y) Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 ME COMPOSITESKeywords: XRD , Dielectric constant , dc resistivity , ac conductivity , ME coefficient. Abstract: y[Li0.5Ni0.6 Zn0.15Fe2O4]+(1-y)Ba0.5Sr0.5TiO3 magnetoelectric composites with y=0.1,0.3 and 0.5 were prepared by a conventional standard double sintering ceramic method. The structural analysis of the composites was carried out by X-ray diffraction technique. The temperature dependent DC resistivity curve exhibits a semiconducting behavior. From ac conductivity measurements in the range 100Hz to1MHz, it is concluded that in the present composites the conduction is due to small poloron hopping. The dielectric constant ( ) and dielectric loss (tan δ) were studied as a function of frequency in the range 100Hz–1MHz and as a function of temperature at four fixed frequencies (i.e. 100Hz, 1 KHz, 10 KHz, 100 KHz). Flat curves in the magnetoelectric (ME) output voltage Vs dc magnetic field is obtained, which may be due to the presence of Strontium in the composites. The static value of the ME coefficient, i.e. (dE/dH)H was studied as a function of applied magnetic field. ME coefficient of the composites decreases with increase in ferrite content.
