EFFECTS OF THE MINIMUM DISPERSION FEED PHASE CENTER ON THE CLASSICAL CASSEGRAIN DESIGNKeywords: Phase-center of the feed , Phase errors , Dual-reflector design Abstract: The essential requirement of a radar system is that the aperture should be illuminated by a uniform phase front in order to obtain a beam of parallel rays. This ideal situation can be obtained by locating the phase-center of the feed elements. In this communication, the techniques of locating the phase-center of the feed elements are described along with the design of the Shortest Length Feed. The feed can be modeled with the Gaussian approximation for the analysis. The Classical Cassegrain system is designed considering the phase center of the feed. The radiation characteristics of the design are obtained on the GRASPv9 Software developed by TICRA Corporation.
