Diversidad de macroinvertebrados y evaluación de la calidad del agua de la quebrada La Bendición, municipio de Quibdó(Chocó - Colombia) Diversity of Macroinvertebrados and Evaluation of the Quality of the Water of the Gulch the Bendición, Municipality of Quibdó (Chocó, Colombia)

Durante diciembre de 2001, se llevó a cabo el estudio de las comunidades de macro-invertebrados presentes en la quebrada La Bendición, ubicada en el municipio de Quibdó (Chocó, Colombia), con el fin de evaluar la diversidad de organismos y posteriormente, determinar la calidad del agua de dicha microcuenca. Se seleccionaron tres estaciones distribuidas en la parte alta (E1), media (E2) y baja (E3), cerca del nacimiento de la quebrada; donde se colectaron los individuos de acuerdo con la metodología citada por Roldán (1996). Se encontraron 150 individuos, distribuidos en 16familias y 7 órdenes. Destacándose entre las familias predominantes, Psephenidae, Elmidae y Veliidae; mientras que a nivel de órdenes, Odonata, presentó la mayor representatividad, seguido de Coleoptera y Hemiptera. Entre tanto, órdenes como Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera y Plecoptera, fueron poco representativos. Los índices ecológicos evaluados para el área de muestreo, presentaron una riqueza y una equidad alta, mientras que la dominancia presentó niveles bajos. Mediante los índices biológicos se pudo determinar que la quebrada la Bendición, presenta aguas de buena calidad, no contaminadas o no alteradas de modo sensible. During December 2001, we study the macroinvertebrate communities present at thegulch La Bendición, located in the municipality of Quibdó (Chocó, Colombia), withthe purpose of evaluating the diversity of organisms to determine water quality. Three stations were selected distributed on the high (E1), intermediate (E2) and low regions(E3), near the birth of the gulch; where individuals were collected based on the methodology described by Roldán (1996). A total of 150 individuals were found, distributed in 16 families and 7 orders. Standing out among the predominant families, were Psephenidae, Elmidae and Veliidae; while at order level Odonata, was the most representative, followed by Coleoptera and Hemiptera. Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera and Plecoptera orders were poorly represented. The ecological indexes evaluated for the area, presented wealth and high justness, while the dominancy levels were low. By means of the biological indexes it was determined that the gulch La Bendición has waters of good quality, not polluted or altered.
