Abstract:

Bilgi ve ileti im teknolojilerindeki geli meler üretilen bilgi miktar n art rmakta ve e itli ortamlarda sunulan bilgiye eri ebilmek giderek daha nemli hale gelmektedir. ok e itli ve ok y nlü bilgiye gereksinimleri olan g rme engelli üniversite rencileri renimleri süresince farkl formatlarda bilgiye eri im alan nda problemler ya amaktad rlar. al ma kapsam nda g rme engelli üniversite rencilerinin kulland klar bilgikaynaklar , kütüphaneler, üniversite kütüphanelerinden ald klar hizmetler, üniversite kütüphanelerinin kullan m nda ya ad klar problemler ile web sitelerine ili kin sorunlar ara t r lm t r. Ayr ca, g rme engelli rencilere y nelik olarak üniversite kütüphaneleri taraf ndan sa lanan olanaklar, hizmetler, bu konuda ya anan problemler ve kütüphanelerin ileriye y nelik planlar da ara t r lm t r. Bulgular, ülkemizdeki üniversite kütüphanelerinin g rme engelli rencilerin gereksinimlerini kar layamad n , üniversite kütüphanelerinin g rme engellilere y nelik koleksiyon, hizmet ve olanaklar a s ndan yetersiz oldu unu, üniversite kütüphane web sayfalar tasarlan rken g rme engellilerin eri ilebilirli inin g z nüne al nmad n g stermektedir. / Developments in information and communication technologies increase the amount of information produced and the importance of access to information in various formats. Visually impaired university students who have various and multi-directional information needs have problems with accessing information in various formats during their education. In this study, information resources, libraries and library services used by visually impaired students, along with the problems they encounter when they useuniversity libraries and library web sites were investigated. Additionally, facilities and services provided by university libraries for the visually impaired students, problems libraries encounter while providing these facilities and services and their future plans were also investigated. The results indicate that information needs of visually impaired students are not satisfied by the university libraries. University libraries are insufficient in terms of developing collection, services and facilities for visually impaired and accessibility of visually impaired is not taken into account while university library web pages are designed.
