Inclusion of the Memory Function in Describing the Flow of Shear-Thinning Fluids in Porous MediaKeywords: Non-Newtonian fluid , shear rate , complex fluid rheology , non-Darcy flow , non-linear dynamics , chaos in porous media Abstract: This paper introduces mathematical models with memory to present the complex rheological phenomena combining the in situ shear rate and bulk rheology with fluid memory. The models are numerically solved and compared the results with established experimental data available in the literature. The new models showed excellent agreement with experimental results for the region where most existing models failed. The proposed models can be used in a number of applications, such as enhanced oil recovery (EOR), polymer manufacturing, etc.
