The use of intracraneanos catheters, mainly the external ventricular drainages, is one practices frequent in patients with neurological problems, due to the difficulty in the technique of positioning of these catheters as well as the complications that we can be found derived from an incorrect manipulation of such, is necessary tostandardize the cares of the carrying patients of these catheters, to prevent possible complications and to give cares of quality. In this work, the ventricular drainage, its indications, the implantationtechnique is described, the material necessary to take I finish i t , the interventions of collaboration nurse, besides to enumerate his, his complications and to establish some final recommendations.
