Energy Saving in Building Thermal System using Model Predictive Control

This paper presents a model predictive control(MPC) algorithm applied to the temperature control ofbuilding. Thermal model of building is obtained using systemidentification method, that by this method almost all types ofbuildings can be modeled. Simulation results show that usingthe proposed algorithm, the energy consumption whileproviding thermal comfort of residents has greatly decreased.Applied algorithm compared with the common controlsystem of type PI.
