BILOBED FLAP IN FACIAL RECONSTRUCTION AFTER SKIN CANCER SURGERYKeywords: BILOBED FLAP , ZIMANY TECHNIQUE , SKIN CANCER Abstract: Reconstruction after facial skin cancer surgery can be done with different methods depending on size and dimension of the ostoperative defect. The bilobed flap is a valuable alternative in surgical repair of small to moderate soft-tissue loss. Material and methods. BetweenJanuary 2006 and December 2010, 308 patients with facial skin cancer were hospitalized in our Department. We used the bilobed flap in 11 cases (4 female and 7 male). Results. Postoperative defects involved different anatomic regions of the face. The size of the defect following tumor removal was between 1,5x1 cm and 6x7 cm. Two patients suffered postoperative complications. Cosmetic and functional results were good in all cases. Conclusion. The bilobed flap has multipleadvantages (easy to design, safe to elevate) and is indicated in the repair of various facial defects.
