A Low Cost Method for Coating of Titania Nanoparticles on Continuous Plastic FibersAbstract: A design of low cost coating process of titania nanopowders on continuous plastic fibers is given. The coating process has three main steps: smearing plastic fibers with an adhesive, spreading titania over the adhesive by employing vibration, and drying titania-spread adhesive. An apparatus is successfully developed by following the design. The characteristics of the apparatus are obtained. The titania-coated plastic fibers have also been evaluated. It has been found that the coating efficiency is about 58-65 % and it could be enhanced.
