O uso dualista do conhecimento das Ciências Sociais no Trabalho Social em Portugal

Our purpose is to identify ideas/social representations that, in the fields of Social Sciences in Portugal, tend to turn differences of paths and forms of institutionalization of the Sociology and the Social Work in impediments to the approach between this two disciplines (concept of dualism). These obstacles must have a reflection about the meanings and perceptions that exist in Portugal, in Sociology, that legitimize this dualism, and that also give us clues to overcome, given that at an institutional level there will always be competition and symbolic power struggles that will force the existence of dualities between them. To better understand the advantages that both disciplines can offer each other, we also present examples of work already carried out research group ASPTI (social analysis of occupations in technical-intellectual knowledge) about how we have dealt with the differences that we can approach, given that to achieve this you must have a subject of research and reflection that enhances the opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogues.
