O kuduro como express o da juventude em Portugal: estilos de vida e processos de identifica o

O artigo em quest o é fruto de uma pesquisa etnográfica realizada em Lisboa, no ano de 2010. O kuduro é um estilo de dan a e música que surgiu em Luanda, nos anos 1990, e que chegou a Portugal logo em seguida, por meio das rela es entre os imigrantes com o país de origem: a Angola. O objetivo é compreender como, ao lado de outras formas de express o cultural juvenis, em Lisboa, o kuduro, assim como o hip-hop, o rap e o reggae, passou a fazer parte integrante do consumo e da produ o cultural dos jovens da periferia. Em meio à música e à dan a como formas de entretenimento, um universo de tens es sociais, étnicas e geracionais faz-se presente e faz emergir interessantes processos de identifica o social. A escola, a rua e a Internet tornaram-se os principais espa os de socializa o do kuduro, que perpassa um estilo de vida que parece constituir la os de afinidade entre imigrantes e descendentes, tendo como referência o país de origem ou mesmo uma áfrica imaginada pela rela o de solidariedade entre descendentes da imigra o originária dos Países Africanos de Língua Portuguesa. A análise de tais quest es está implicada pelas novas dinamicas dos fluxos contemporaneos transnacionais de pessoas, de produtos culturais e de informa es, em contextos metropolitanos e pós-coloniais. This article is an ethnographic research made in Lisbon, in the year 2010. The kuduro is a style of dance and music that emerged in Luanda, in the 1990s, which came to Portugal soon after, through relations established between immigrants with their country of origin: Angola. The objective is to understand how, alongside other forms of cultural expression for youth, in Lisbon, kuduro, as well as hip-hop, rap and reggae, has become an integral part of cultural production and consumption of young people from periphery. Between music and dancing, as forms of entertainment, the universe of social, ethnic and generational tensions is present and make emerge social identification processes. The school, the street and the Internet became the main spaces for socialization of kuduro, running through a lifestyle that seems to build ties of affinity between immigrants and descendants, with references to the country of origin or even an imagined Africa by the relationship of solidarity among descendants of immigration from Portuguese-speaking African countries. The analysis of such issues is implicated by the new dynamics of the contemporary transnational flows of people, information and cultural products, and post-colonial and metropolitan contexts.
