Post-ideological reviews of the ideology in Slovak literature after 1989

Reviews of ideology in Slovak literature after 1989 have two basic forms, the first being the traumas of history and the analysis of evil and the second ironic reflections on the official interpretation of history. A new post-ideological view of history makes use of the construction principle of bricolage, where a new meaningful and functional whole is created by join-ing originally incompatible elements and by intentionally changing and blending various literary techniques. Slovak literature after 1989 did not give up on telling big stories, but, in fact, rediscovered them. The legacy of the ideology and the process of coming to terms with it has become the common ground of new grand narratives.
