Corrección idiomática atribuida al espa ol de los países hispanohablantes por sujetos de Santiago de Chile Linguistic correctness attributed to geographical varieties of Spanish-speaking countries by subjects from Santiago de Chile

En el presente artículo analizamos las opiniones de 400 sujetos de Santiago de Chile respecto de en cuáles países hispanohablantes se habla el espa ol con un mayor o menor grado de corrección idiomática, y qué factores influyen en estas opiniones. Nuestros hallazgos revelan que la atribución de mayor corrección a las variedades de Perú y Espa a, así como la de menor corrección a la variedad chilena, depende tanto de factores lingüísticos (correspondencia relativa de cada variedad con el perfil lingüístico de un modelo ideal de espa ol correcto) como de factores extralingüísticos (valoración social de los usuarios de estas variedades). In this paper we analyze the opinions of 400 subjects from Santiago de Chile about which geographical varieties of Spanish have a greater or lesser degree of linguistic correctness, and which factors influence these opinions. Our findings reveal that the greater degree of correctness perceived in the varieties of Perú and Spain, and the lesser degree of correctness perceived in Chilean Spanish, depend both of linguistic and non-linguistic factors (correspondence of these varieties with the linguistic profile of an ideal model of correct Spanish and social valuation of their speakers, respectively).
