Families and Homosexual Parenting: Constructs for disproving the Homophobic Prejudice - This paper proposes a theoretical and methodological reflection on the basic constructs used in the study of same-sex families and same-sex parenting, focusing on the epistemological need to acquire new and more complex paradigms of analysis that can bring about a critical redefinition of the hermeneutic catego-ries used to read the transformation of our society. With regard to the construct of parenting, the current contexts in which this function is performed (today's family configurations), opens, in fact, "plural" scenarios which demonstrate a conceptual discontinuity in relation to old ways of defining the family system and par-enting function. The outcomes of this discontinuity, in a deconstructive interpretation, can be considered, also in the psychological field, as the discursive categories needed to analyze the complexity of the “Homo-sexual Parenting Question”. The paper also deepens the implications for the relationship between socio-cultural devices, institutionalized homophobia and representations of same-sex parenting.
