Disabled men and women in modern society: a few explored issue in Italy. It is an actual challenge that require to scientific community to rethink the existing theories on the basis of new paradigms such as empowerment, resilience, advocacy and citizenship. This approach may become an ideal setting to suggest new perspectives on the status of women and men with disabilities if it consider at the light of the rights and gender studies. This article aims to define suggestion on the relationship between gender studies and disability studies through selected study cases, particularly for the women.
