Process Monitoring of Dichloroacetamide Reaction by Thin-Layer Chromatography

A thin-layer chromatographic procedure has been developed for the monitor and identification of Dichloroacetamide compounds which are the products of reaction between dichloroacetyl chloride and corresponding amines. The sample was separated on silica gel plate with dichloromethane-methanol 10:1(V/V)as the developer. Then, the separated spots were scanned in iodine. The Rf values of dichloroacetamide compounds were also determined. The method is simple , rapid, sensitive and reproducible.
