Determination of alpha-methoxynaphthalene by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method]
|
Abstract:
A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for the quantitative determination of alpha-methoxynaphthalene and it's harmful impurity. The instrument used was Varian Model 5000 HPLC system, with Nucleosil-C18 column, 10 microns, 300 mm x 4.6 mm i.d., eluent of V (methanol):V(water) = 90:10 at a flow rate of 0.8 mL/min and detection wavelength, 254 nm. The relative purity of alpha-methoxynaphthalene was more than 96% and relative standard deviation was 0.29%.
