he present paper shows the results of the study about low temperature high performance liquid chromatog-raphy and its retention behavior.It is found that the compounds, such as, aromatics and alkaloids have a pro-longed retention time on ODS column when temperature decreases below roon temperature. The lnk'of the sub-stances mentioned above is closely correlated with 1/T, But the slope for different substarices is not the same.Thus, low temperature can be used as a regulator for improving the selectivity of chromatographic separation.
