Evaluation of Intensive Industrial Land Use Based on Modification of Industrial Differences in Jiangsu Province
|
Abstract:
The aims of this paper are to illustrate the meaning and method of comparing evaluation results of land use intensity, and improve levels of intensive land use. We described the comparability of intensive land use, and note that when comparing evaluation results equal consideration and the correct land use status for different industries are needed. In order to modify differences caused by land scale, production processes and technical processes, we set correction factors for land use for different industrial sectors according to the construction land norm for Jiangsu province. Finally, we established an evaluation index system of land use, and evaluated the level of intensive land use between different industrial sectors and regions. The results indicate that differences in inter-regional and inter-industry land use are smaller, and some indicators change the pros and cons in different regions. Land use intensity is different among the three regions in Jiangsu province, and different industries exhibit different characteristics on land use. Leading industries in Sunan such as the communications-electronics manufacturing and machinery manufacturing did not show high land use intensity; some high-tech industries show higher land use intensity in Suzhong and Subei. At the provincial level, the level of industrial intensive land use is lower, and in some industries is higher, such as for ferrous metal smelting and rolling, papermaking, petroleum processing, machinery manufacturing and communications-electronics manufacturing. The results of the evaluation indicate differences before and after modification, and some habitual ideas about land use are overthrown. For example, land use intensity in Sunan is significantly higher than Suzhong and Subei, and land use intensity in Suzhong is highest.
