Research on Quality of Service Management Mechanisms in Distributed Multimedia Systems*
分布式多媒体系统服务质量管理机制的研究*

Abstract The rapid advances in distributed multimedia systems pose new challenges to the QoS(quality of service) management mechanisms. In this paper, the drawbacks of the QoS management mechanisms in the existing computer networks are introduced, and then the basic viewpoints about the QoS in the distributed multimedia systems are presented. The QoS parameters at each layer and the QoS management functions are discussed in detail. An example is also described. Finally, some conclusions are reached.
