QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF WATER QUANTITY RENEWABILITY
|
Abstract:
To identity water quantity renewability is vital to management of sustainable water utilization. However, the concept of water quantity renewability and its quantitative methodologies have not been well answered by far. Though there are some researches have involved in those questions and have addressed some viewpoints and quantifying methods about water quantity renewability, those methods are relatively simple and cannot describe the nature of water quantity renewability. Therefore, in this paper a new method to quantify water quantity renewability is put forward based on hydrological processes and the tank model. Theoretical analysis shows that this method can give good expression to water quantity renewability. Furthermore, the method is applied to the Malianhe basin in western China as case study, from which research results indicate that the method can be used to analyze the spatio temporal change law of water quantity renewability in the hydrological cycle.
